Verdict

Revelator is not the most obvious of recruits to the Champion Trainer's yard and it might be worth chancing ROYAL ETIQUETTE instead. Rated (a regressive) 68 on the flat, this son of Royal Applause was well-fancied on his hurdling bow at Stratford but he jumped poorly and was eased late on. Hopefully he will have learnt plenty from that and can take it into today's race. Until The Man was at a similar level on the flat and he shaped with promise on his hurdling bow at Ludlow; if Tony McCoy can get him settled early on then he must go close. Revelator, the winner of a six furlong maiden at Catterick when trained by Alan Jarvis, returns from a year off and with a tongue-tie fitted and representing powerful connections he looks likely to feature highly. There is stamina on his dam's side so the trip today should be within range.
