In depth

Verdict

Lannkaran has solid claims on his best form but Henry Daly's gelding has not had a great deal of racing in the last two years and preference is for Lord North, who gets the nod over Harry's Dream. The selection has slipped to a very attractive mark and, with the stable of Paul Webber in good form, he looks worth chancing in a race where there are doubts concerning most of his rivals. Harry's Dream does not look the most reliable of jumpers and comes from a stable out of sorts at present, while top weight Zaffamore has given little sign of encouragement in two starts this term and probably needs more help from the handicapper. Kali des Obeaux is better than she showed on his recent return but is difficult to recommend and a bigger threat may come from Colin Tinkler's Master Ride, who made a winning reappearance over hurdles at Hereford last month and does not appear to be too badly treated back over fences now. However, Lord North is better treated than for some time and may be worth a bet.
