In depth

Verdict

Tom George gas his string in good form so his runner here, Majaales, has to be considered despite his big weight but the son of Diesis has yet to confirm that he handles ground as testing as this and he may be best watched with preference for CULLAHILL, who gets the vote with Valley Of Giants rated the best of the rest. The selection last won on fast ground at Worcester in May 2008 and has not run since the December of that year but Bob Buckler has been doing well with his runners of late and, having won an Irish point on testing ground, the going should not be a problem for the lightly raced eight-year-old. Suzy Smith's Corker has been running consistently well, including on testing ground, and he has to be considered but is probably too high in the handicap at present. Stripe Me Blue has slipped to a fair mark but was beaten off the same mark that he races off today at Bangor last time and of more interest may be Valley Of Giants. Gordon Elliott's gelding is a confirmed performer on testing ground in Ireland and he has to be of interest on his British debut given the trainer's record with his runners in this country. Cullahill has been given a real chance by the handicapper though on his belated reappearance and he looks worth siding with on ground that should suit.
