In depth

Verdict

Irish point-to-point winner Get My Drift can give Paul Nicholls another string to his novice chase bow, with Omni Cosmo Touch seen as the main danger. Get My Drift found only Limerick Leader too good on his debut over fences at Chepstow last month, and should duly go one better here. Three times successful between the flags in Ireland, that experience will stand him in good stead, and with no problems from a stamina point of view, the five-year-old looks hard to oppose. Omni Cosmo Touch seems to have been around for ages, and in his hurdling days for Oliver Sherwood, always preferred fast ground. In addition, he has disappointed on more than one occasion over fences in the past so is worth taking on today. It is impossible to know how fit Tribal Venture will be, but he was a solid third in the Petemps Final at last year's Cheltenham Festival, and is sure to have been well schooled. It will be interesting to see if he can make up into a Royal & SunAlliance Chase candidate and we shall monitor his progress with interest. With fitness assured though, Get My Drift is the one to be on here.
