In depth

Verdict

ROYAL PLAZA (NAP) can hardly be opposed after his demolition job in a conditionals' race at Warwick last week under today's rider. Alan King's charge has been raised 14lb but can race off his old mark without a penalty and looks a handicap snip. Generous Pet was superbly placed to complete a four-timer in the spring but is now 18lb higher than his last winning mark. Cooking Fat ran very well on his reappearance at Ayr but could have done without a 5lb rise and was well beaten behind today's rival Tap Night at Musselburgh earlier. That winner hasn't shown much subsequently while former Irish bumper and hurdles winner Aengus was beaten a long way on his debut for Jennie Candlish at Uttoxeter. Visandi could provide the main threat having just his third start for Jonjo O'Neill after arriving from France where he won on the Flat.
