In depth

Verdict

Most of these mares have some sort of chance, though Evella isn't one to rely upon and Countess Comet hasn't shown a great deal over the larger obstacles so far. Harry Challoner takes 5lb off KYKATE and that may just be enough for Bill Kinsey's charge to open her account over fences as she's just a pound higher than when successful over hurdles less than a year ago. Overnight Fame has already won at Lingfield and Southwell and has more experience than most, though she's closely matched with Midnight Macarena on the form book. Pampelonne's jumping remains a concern but Queen Of Mantua might be improving and did beat Midnight Macarena over hurdles last spring.
