Verdict

It may be significant that AP McCoy has hung around to ride Jonjo O'Neill's FOUNDATION MAN in this finale. A half-brother to the top-class Captain Chris, he should be a force when tackling hurdles and fences down the line but could be good enough to make a winning racecourse debut in this. Given his trainer's tremendous record in bumpers, Overdraught has to go on the short-list given he's related to numerous winners on the Flat and over hurdles and fences. Lord Grantham could be one for the future while the filly Swing Bowler has a nice pedigree and won at Wincanton in May. She shouldn't be ignored, despite her penalty.
