Verdict

Akatara has shown promise on several occasions but is still a maiden after a dozen runs. Several of these are penalised for bumper victories including A Country Girl and Tellherimnothere. The former makes her debut over timber while the latter has shown some useful form over obstacles and is expected to go well. THE FOLKES CHOICE attracted some support on her racecourse debut in a Thurles maiden last month where she travelled well for a long way before fading. Today's less testing conditions should be in her favour and she can get off the mark.
