Verdict

Nicky Henderson has his string in fine order and La Dame Brune is fancied to enhance the strike rate from the last fortnight; Wyldello and Serengeti Sunset are others with chances, while Clover Green - a sister to Turpin Green - is an interesting newcomer to monitor in the betting market. The last named is under the capable guidance of Barney Curley and is one to keep on the right side if she shows ability and gains experience. Serngeti Sunset is stoutly bred and will be suited by a test of stamina in due course. Se has experience of the pointing fields and can at least be expected to know what to do. Wyldello was at least Listed class in bumpers and will be a big threat if she can jump a flight of hurdles. Alan King is on the crest of a wave at present and his charge looks to be the logical alternative to the selection. However, La Dame Brune really showed a zest for hurdling when she romped to victory at Huntingdon earlier in the month and is expected to be hard to beat today, in spite of having a penalty to carry for her troubles.
