In depth

Verdict

Taghreed stands out on form and should be supported to beat Orchestrator and the reappearing Greyfriars Abbey. It will be a surprise if Taghreed does not open her account sooner rather than later based on two solid efforts on soft ground at Leicester and Yarmouth to date. She was close up at the finish each time, and the form of her latest second has been franked by the third Silca Elegance at Redcar subsequently. Unless any of her rivals improve significantly today, it is hard not to see her coming out on top. Orchestrator has to prove that he can go on the ground, but he was a shade unlucky in running at Goodwood on his return a fortnight ago, so may go well, while Greyfriars Abbey returns to action here after a 237-day absence, and looks one to follow when he goes handicapping later this summer. Risque Heights went close on a few occasions last term, and is now fitted with blinkers and a tongue-tie. There could be some improvement then, but we much prefer the claims of Taghreed.
