In depth

Verdict

Bob Bob Bobbin has an obvious chance to follow up his Folkestone success and is taken to do so at the main expense of Jaunty Times and Jackie Boy. The last mentioned won a bumper on his debut but the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained gelding has yet to show a similar level of form over hurdles. Safe To Blush showed improved form at Hereford last time but this looks a tougher contest and of more interest may be Gold For Me. Martin Pipe's gelding showed promise behind the useful The Persuader at Taunton last time and is entitled to improve as is stablemate Oasis Banus, now that he steps up in trip. Jaunty Times has done little wrong since being switched to fences and has to be respected but preference is for Bob Bob Bobbin. Colin Tizzard's gelding was useful in bumpers and has looked at least as good over hurdles. He should be more than capable of defying a penalty.
