    Verdict

LIEL is selected ahead of Twice As Nice and Lenkiewicz. It isn't too often that the Meehan yard persevere with four-year-old maidens but the dam of this filly cost no less that 4.6 million guineas when carrying her as a foal so connections will be keen to scoop some sort of return upon investment. Closely related to Alexandrova and Masterofthehorse, there will be no bluer blood on view today than this. Twice As Nice did not show a great deal on debut at Nottingham though the step up in trip should help. Lenkiewicz was third in a big sales race at Ascot last year though has failed to run up to much form since. Defence Of Realm shaped with a level of ability at Beverley on introduction. He will make up into a fair handicapper over further if that racecourse evidence is anything to go by. Touch Tone was highly tried on two starts last term - latterly behind Pollenator at Newmarket. The market should give us food for thought. House Point never showed in a hot Newmarket maiden won by Inler. There could be quite a few winners to come out of this and Liel looks the most likely this afternoon.
