In depth

Verdict

A trappy looking nursery in which several have chances including the consistent Kuringai and top weight Shielaligh but the vote just goes to Toronto Heights, who might be worth another chance having showed improved form at Folkestone last time. That was over seven furlongs and while the Barry Hills-trained colt disappointed when last seen over six furlongs at York he was badly drawn there in a much better race than this. The opposition does not look too strong here so the son of King Of Kings could be worth a bet. Shielaligh has claims but the form of the Henry Candy stable is a worry, while Kurangai seems to be in the handicapper¿s grip at present. A similar comment applies to Mick Channon's Truly Wonderful, while St Regs, from another stable with a good record in this type of contest, may not have handled the soft ground on his nursery debut and may do better back on a faster surface. He rates the main danger to the selection Toronto Heights.
