Verdict

PURPLE 'N GOLD is well clear on official ratings and can be forgiven his run in a claimer at Newmarket last week when Frankie Dettori plotted a lone furrow up the stands' rail when all of his rivals came up the far side. He handles Fibresand so the heavy ground shouldn't be too much of a problem. The filly No Time To Cry could chase him home following a couple of fair efforts at Leicester and Beverley, though Emperors Waltz drops into a seller for the first time. Ben Croy, third at Brighton last time, may be best of the rest.
