In depth

Verdict

David Evans saddles two runners in this six furlong contest with last month's Kempton winner Kersivay looking the pick of the duo ahead of Timeteam but both are likely to be found wanting in a race taken to go to WESTWOOD. Derek Haydn Jones has done pretty well with his runners in recent weeks and, having shown better form at Southwell in his last two starts and being a confirmed performer on testing ground, the son of Captain Rio looks worth chancing here. Alan McCabe's Kensington has been running well of late and has to be respected but he has been campaigned almost exclusively over seven furlongs recently and may not be suited by the drop to six. Mata Hari Blue is lightly raced but has yet to confirm that she handles ground as soft as this, while Declan Carroll's Cherri Fosfate won a seller on good to soft ground but this is a lot more difficult under the conditions and off his current mark. Valentino Swing is another to consider on a rare run on turf but it is hard to get away from Westwood, who looks the one to beat.
