In depth

Verdict

Alexian gets the call here ahead of Synonymy, and the advice is to watch the betting with regard to the others. Alexian improved to run well over course and distance last time and holds solid claims based on that form, particularly as he was hampered at a crucial stage in the race. In a contest that will not take too much winning, he rates a fair option. Synonymy has run well in two recent races over today's trip and holds place claims, while Squirtle showed some improvement when stepped up to this trip for the first time last time. King's Fable holds claims on the best of his all-weather efforts, while Wise Choice was behind Unique Moment (who had earlier finished behind Synonymy) last time, although that run came on good to soft going, but it would be hard to build a strong case for the others based on what we have seen from them so far. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Alexian.
