In depth

Verdict

In a race dominated by newcomers, we look to High Commision to get off to a good start against Jam Packed and Aitch Doubleyou. There is little public evidence to go on, but Jam Packed will no doubt attract support, being an Irish import now with Jonjo O'Neill. He is a half-brother to a winner over fences though and that is where his long-term future no doubt lies. The other runner with a bit of experience is Aitch Doubleyou who shaped well enough when second at Towcester a fortnight ago. That at least showed that he has stamina, and that will come in handy here, as will the inclusion of Mick Fitzgerald in the saddle. Lord Bathwick and Quinta de Lobo are both related to plenty of winners, and any support in the ring for either should be noted. However, we are going to take a chance that High Commision will be ready to do the business first time. Henry Daly normally houses progressive bumper performers, and this son of Bob Back is sure to have been well schooled. With Richard Johnson to help, the six-year-old can go close.
