In depth

Verdict

Elenas River, Torduff Express and General Claremont are three capable of winning this event and we will side with the last named. He is one of the oldest in the line-up but retains plenty of ability as he showed when winning over three miles seven furlongs in a hunter chase at Folkestone last time. His previous effort behind County Derry over 4m1f at Cheltenham is also decent form. Reverting to handicap company shouldn't be a problem and we expect a big run. Stable-mate of the selection Torduff Express is at the top of his game following victories at Stratford and Cheltenham and this old-timer will be a major threat. Elenas River was most impressive when landing a novice chase last time and could be very well treated here. Others of note here are Take a Stand and Maximise, but for the winner we return to General Claremont.
