In depth

Verdict

The Black Squirrel won at Cartmel last month but an 8lb rise proved beyond him at the same track last time while Quivvy Lough is 5lb higher than when returning the shock 100/1 winner over course and distance. Knight Commander finished runner-up to Kendelu, due to run in the previous division of this, at Newton Abbot recently but has something to prove over this far as does DORETTE. But the latter produced a late rally to finish a close-up third over 2m4f at Sedgefield on her reappearance and Chris Kellett’s mare could be in the mix at the finish.
