Verdict

STRONG TEAM won at Perth in July and has twice finished second at Sedgefield this year. This is a weak finale and Chris Grant’s charge has every chance of recording a second victory over hurdles given a lack of credible opposition. The four-year-old Mauricio won on the Flat in Ireland and makes his handicap debut over timber after only three runs but gives the impression he’ll do better on softer going. Further down the weights, Bumble Bay could make the frame at decent odds but Gold Class is likely to need this.
