In depth

Verdict

Alfie Solomons led until inside the final furlong of a valuable sales race at York last month and had also finished second earlier at Ripon and Goodwood. He probably deserves a second success of the season but Jim Crowley was on the winner of this last year in the Hamdan Al Maktoum colours and rides the unexposed KHAADEM for Charlie Hills. An easy winner at Newmarket on his second start after finishing third to Calyx on debut, the Dark Angel colt is still entered in the Mill Reef and Middle Park. Swissterious ran well for a long way in the Acomb and makes more appeal than Yousini, Walkman and the once-raced pair Fares Kodiac and Converter.
