Verdict

Sheriff Hutton looked well worth following when winning last time and is preferred to Madam Blaze and Nortonthorpe Lad. The selection didn't show a great deal in bumpers or on his first four starts over hurdles but it was hard not to be impressed with the way he routed the field at Hereford last time. The handicapper certainly was as he has dished out a 12lb rise but it looks well worth giving the Rudimentary gelding the chance to prove that he deserves it. Not too many of his opponents jump off the page but Madam Blaze, Nortonthorpe Lad, Mattaking and Silver Bow are all worthy of consideration. Madam Blaze continues to perform well in defeat but victory remains elusive and there's every chance that she'll find at least one too good again. Nortonthorpe Lad has his first run since being claimed out of Mick Easterby's yard and is well worth a market check given that he has ability. Silver Bow is a capable performer on her day and entitled to come on for her reappearance whilst Mattaking is a potential improver now handicapping. However, the safest option is to side with Sheriff Hutton.
