In depth

Verdict

Fair Question is the pick here, with Tigers Lair, Society Buck and Vingis Park three others in with a shout. The ex-German Fair Question finally rewarded connections' patience when coming good at Huntingdon last month. He has had lots of problems and has been hard to train so hopefully will have turned the corner now. Tigers Lair will be ridden by Tony McCoy, and his partnership with Jonjo O'Neill will reap rich dividends in future. His mount today has had just the three runs to date but the last of those was in Aintree's Champion Bumper in which he finished a creditable fourth. If he takes to jumping straight away, then he can go close also. Society Buck appreciated the return to novice-company when scoring at Stratford last time and can make his presence felt, while Trinket belied an 18-month absence to win at Hereford and may go chasing after this. Vingis Park has been placed a number of times and it is not hard to visualise him being in the shake-up either, but Fair Question can put his past woes behind him to record another victory.
