    Verdict

Marathea can turn the tables on Red Dahlia, with White Dove and Macreater expected to give her most to do. Marathea was beaten narrowly by Red Dahlia when the pair met at Fakenham recently, but it looked as though Liam Treadwell had gone too soon on Venetia Williams's mare, and she was collared on the run-in. The winner was produced at the last to steal it at the Norfolk track, but Towcester is a different kettle of fish, and with a slight turnaround in the weights, Marathea makes more appeal, especially if Alan O'Keefe can just save something for the stiff run-in. White Dove was helped by the soft ground when scraping home at Hereford in January, but has not been out since, while Macreater is still a maiden who has been campaigned mainly in selling company. So, everything looks just right for Marathea in the finale.
