In depth

Verdict

Redbridge Flyer has changed stables following his hurdling debut at Chepstow in November and it won't have done him any harm moving to Philip Hobbs, though his form to date has been moderate. Bottman, a surprise debut winner in a Chepstow bumper in April, could only finish third of four on his hurdling bow at Wincanton in October but that race was run at a crawl and he'll be much better suited by this stiffer test of stamina. All of See You Jack's three runs have been at Huntingdon and he went close to winning in October. He was an early faller the following month but should get involved here providing his confidence hasn't been affected. It's almost three years since Valsfirth landed a point at Ballydurn but Donald McCain does so well with this type that the absence isn't too much of a concern. LOCH BA looks a typical slow-burner from his yard and this well-connected five-year-old can start paying his way here now faced with a greater stamina test after a couple of promising runs in a Sandown bumper and a very strong novice hurdle at Bangor.
