Verdict

Leophin Dancer might provide the answer here, but keep in mind Antony Ebeneezer and Summer Bounty. Running through the field. Alpha Rose is an eight-time winner on the Flat at up to 14 furlongs. The six-year-old has shown promise in three hurdling runs but, returning from a 127-day break, does not look too kindly treated by the handicapper given a mark of 95. That said, this stiff track should suit. Antony Ebeneezer won at Stratford in July from a mark of 88 (now rated 94) but ran solidly from a rating of 95 at Plumpton last time. Leophin Dancer comfortably won a Worcester conditional jockey's event in September (Dunkerron looks held on that form) on only his second run over hurdles and comes here with his confidence at a high. If Tiger Frog gets back to the level of promise suggested by his debut sixth at Haydock last November then he could go well, but he has been disappointing overall since, although he should strip fitter for his latest outing, his first for nearly seven months. Tony McCoy has been booked for Summer Bounty, who has certainly shown some promise over hurdles. A market move for this five-time Flat winner could prove interesting. Wanna Shout has shown little so far over hurdles but at least comes here fit following a fair fourth in a 10-furlong Chepstow handicap on August 25. On what we know, Vulcan Lane's chances are hard to enthuse about. The same cannot be said about Leophin Dancer, who gets our nomination.
