Verdict

Bensachuine looked as though he could win one of these after three good runs at Kilbeggan but pulled much too hard when attempting to make all at Galway and was soon done with. Jamie Codd's presence in the saddle is a real bonus and his mount looks certain to be in the shake-up. Souphanouvan finished runner-up in this on his debut a year ago but hardly picked his feet up in two starts during the summer so NEMEAN LION looks the one to be on. Joseph O'Brien's four-year-old made his debut under Rules at Fairyhouse earlier this month and though never a threat ran better than his finishing position suggests, especially as he was impeded at a crucial stage. Larry Tully ran quite well for a long way in that latter race and could get closer.
