The promising Kevin Brouder used his claim to good effect when getting Billy De Kid home narrowly at Clonmel. Tom Cooper's charge is up 4lb but looks as though he'll make a decent handicapper over fences so should make a bold bid to go in again, though Erkindale Lady was only beaten a length into fourth and was staying on strongly so must have a chance of turning the tables. BELLGROVE (NAP) is 1-26 over fences, which doesn't inspire confidence, but he was conceding 12lb to Fenlon's Hill when beaten a length at Galway and the winner completed a double last week so the form looks strong enough for this. Lasoscar beat a big field over hurdles at Killarney in August but hasn't taken to fences so far but Neddyvaughan looks a threat. Christy Roche' charge won a Sligo handicap on this sort of ground in August and has performed with credit in subsequent starts despite being raised 8lb.
