Verdict

A potentially-informative first division of this novice hurdle sees a renewal of hostilities between Enniscoffey Oscar and IF THE CAP FITS, second and fourth in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April. Only a neck separated the pair that day and Harry Fry’s charge may take his revenge with Emma Lavelle’s promising ex-pointer likely to thrive when tackling further. Station Master has also won between the flags and made a winning start under Rules at Aintree in May but might need his first run for Kim Bailey. Blu Cavalier is also having his first run for a new yard but fitness is unlikely to be an issue, though this looks an above-average race for the time of year.
