BURGAS, who cost €140,000 after three runs in France, started favourite on his debut for new connections at Fairyhouse but couldn't quite find the pace to get past the front pair. That was over 2m4f and he travelled well for most of the race so can make amends. Minella Scamp, a winning point-to-pointer, has come up against smart opposition in his two starts over hurdles and this should prove more his class while Pakman hasn't been beaten far in any of his three starts over timber and can reach the frame. It's difficult to get excited about the remainder though winning point-to-pointer Heron Heights may have some improvement in him.
