Verdict

Black Mac is consistent but gets little respite from the handicapper as a result. He'll enjoy the ground, however, and should be thereabouts again along with recent winners IMMEDIATE RESPONSE and Clashnabrook, who aren't overburdened despite 4lb penalties. The former gets the vote as he seems to like heavy ground and may still be well handicapped on his second run after an enforced absence. Owennacurra Milan is also worth a second look as he's only a pound higher than when runner-up to Hidden Crack at Limerick, though he has struggled to stay this far in the past. Son Of Moyne is only a couple of pounds higher than when second over fences at Tramore last month but his form over hurdles is modest.
