    Verdict

A wide open handicap here and many can be given chances on their best form but the principals look to be Rock Lobster, Gifted Flame and Hula Ballew and the tentative vote goes to the last named. The selection remains on a good mark and ran as if about to hit form when second behind Otago on his last run. He has conditions to suit and from a good draw he will be hard to beat. Rock Lobster rates the main danger he finished in mid-division in a much better race behind Dance To My Tune last time and with the return to faster ground sure to suit he has definite place claims. Gifted Flame is another that could go well but he was behind the selection last time and they meet on the same terms here so for that reason he is passed over. Huxley is dangerously well handicapped despite top weight and he has a good draw so he is another to note in the market despite being out of form of late. Of the remainder Megans Magic is from a shrewd yard and is another to note in the market especially if the rain arrives but for the winner we return to Hula Ballew.
