Verdict

With little to go on this does not look a race to be getting heavily involved in and we will put up LASSO THE MOON as the selection, while Haljaferia might prove the danger. Mick Channon saddles the selection, a three-year-old Sadler's Wells colt who should therefore be at home now stepped up to this trip. This will be the fastest ground he has encountered in what is his fourth maiden run, but he may still act on it and he won't mind any rain. His form is solid enough in context so he gets the vote. Haljaferia has now had five runs and the Halling gelding went well enough when fourth of seven on his first try on turf and at this trip when running at Doncaster last month. It is hard to say how much improvement he might have in him but if he holds his form then he is entitled to be thereabouts. Whirlijig did not show enough in a couple of bumpers to be considered a leading player on this, his flat race debut, while Autumn Harvest could get involved given that he has stamina in abundance and comes from an in-form yard. Grey Granite is expected to come on for this marked step up in trip and a market check would be prudent, but Lasso The Moon gets the vote.
