A competitive apprentice handicap gets us under way here. Empowered and Supercast have both hit a vein of good form recently but selection goes to EL DECECY. The gelding was a winner at Brighton last time out and proved again that he is a force at this level. It is worth noting that he has struggled on this course in the past, but he should prove more effective on this step up in trip and a third victory of the month looks to be in the offing. Empowered ran well last time, when returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines. He is a one time Guineas entrant and a half-brother to Authorized. The four-year-old looks capable of better but the selection may prove too good for the colt. Supercast is a reliable sort and is in good form this year. He should be able to run his race and maintain his recent run and a place in the minors looks possible. Course and distance winner Polish Power was a winner at Lingfield last time, that was a much improved effort on recent form and a follow up looks unlikely. The selection for us then is El Dececy.
