    Verdict

MAURICETHEATHLETE looks worth chancing in an open race. Martin Keighley's gelding ran his best race to date behind Rifleman at Worcester in May and now returned to three miles he has a good chance of landing his first win at the 16th attempt. Admiral Dundas has stamina to prove but his fifth to Court Red Handed at Ludlow looks strong form, and along with the adaptable Captain Beckett is respected. Prince Massini won on his comeback at Uttoxeter and he seemed to relish a return to hurdling; an 11lbs higher mark makes life tougher but he comes here in grand form and has a nice racing weight. Heir To Be also comes here on the back of a solid win but he was given an easy lead, whilst North Island has more to do as he steps back out of novice company.
