    Verdict

A very weak race and the most tentative of nominations goes to LUCKY SUN. A solid fourth on debut at Ludlow in May, the selection may only need to repeat that run to win this contest. Richard Johnson is a strong jockey booking and he gets the nod accordingly. Buck Magic was a winner of a point-to-point at Kilmallock and is respected in a race like this, whilst Cladding, Double Fun, Mocambo and Wychwoods Kaddy were all well-held on debut at big prices. Newcomer Prince Of King is the first foal of a dam whose claim to fame was being placed in a seven furlong claimer and doesn't leap off the page subsequently.
