      Verdict

Bremen is taken to break his maiden tag at the second time of asking here, with Sunset Boulevard respected and a couple of newcomers to keep an eye on in the market. The selection ran well when just held by Platin Grounds in a fast ground novices' hurdle at Perth last month. The pair were four lengths clear of a hat-trick seeker that day so the form looks very good in the context of this race and he can take it. Sunset Boulevard hails from the in-form Robert Alner yard and won twice on the leve at Lingfield from marks of 68 and 70. He will definitely need further than this to show us his best and so, although respected, he will probably have to wait for other days. Kings Fable was nothing like as good on the flat but did win a small Catterick handicap last year. He may be capable of making the frame here, but newcomer Shore Thing looks a better proposition, even though he will also surely want further, while former German runner With Speed is worth watching to see how he goes on his British debut. For today though, Bremen gets a confident vote.
