In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Broken Reed, In Extra Time and Merry Storm and the narrow nomination is given to Broken Reed. The selection was a fair third behind Sparkling Taff off this mark last time out. That form looks solid and in the hope that first time blinkers help him travel better in the early part of the race he looks the one to be on. In Extra Time rates the main danger on his best form. He was outpaced over a trip far too short for him last time out and with the return to this trip looking to be in his favour he could go well. Merry Storm was a fair second behind The Teuchter last time but he often finds little off the bridle and at likely odds he looks worth taking on. Keltic Lord has dropped to a handy mark but all his best form is on a faster surface. Of the remainder, Foly Pleasant looks the stable's second string on jockey bookings, while Radbrook Hall is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he will need to improve for the fitting of first time cheekpieces if he is to trouble the selection, which is Broken Reed.
