In depth

Verdict

Martin Pipe's Mantras has been off the track for a long time since last being seen in France, while stablemate Killer Cat needs to improve on recent evidence and preference is for Time Marches On, who gets the vote over Hattington. The last mentioned looked beaten when falling at Exeter last time but will be better suited by today's faster ground, while Half Inch is entitled to improve again having had just two runs since the autumn. Antigiotto is less exposed than most and few yards are in better form at present than that of Peter Bowen's so the four-year-old has to be respected but Time Marches On created a favourable impression when scoring at Plumpton last time and is taken to defy a 6lb rise in the weights.
