Verdict

A poor contest to commence proceedings where the principal names on the racecard are Max Yasgar, Lazy Lena, Colourful Life and Croc An Oir, and we will take Lazy Lena to score. Dougie Costello's mount scored in suimilar company last time out at Hexham and is at her best on a sound surface. The step back up in trip will definitely be a positive here and at these weights she has a decent chance of following up. Max Yasgar is open to more improvement, as a lightly raced sort, who showed his best form over c&d when runner up here a couple of weeks ago. He is definitely in with a chance here but is just opposed. Colourful Life is on the downgrade as evidence by his appearance in this company. He enjoys to hear his hooves rattle, so any further drying would suit, but ideally he needs at least three miles on fast ground so he is also taken on. Of the remainder Croc An Oir would eat these for breakfast if he could return to the form of a couple of years ago, but he has it to prove now, and preference is for Lazy Lena to get us off to a good start.
