Verdict

Another very tricky race brings Southwell's card to it's conclusion and Sir Homo is a far from confident selection to end the meeting on a punting high note. The Sir Robert Ogden-owned Ken'tucky is the obvious danger, as he hails from a yard that can do little wrong at present, and he can be expected to be a warm order from the betting ring. However, he was a major let down at Folkestone last time and would not be one to take too short a price about - even in a poor race like this. Only One Matty has done very to suggest that he is up to giving weight away all round and will need to match the best of his Irish form to even make a place. Therefore, the search for a fair run at a fair price brings us back to Edwin Tuer's fellow Irish-bred Sir Homo, who has acquitted himself well since arriving on these shores and can provide the key to a decent return in a race where maximum stakes play is the last thing on the agenda.
