    Verdict

Caspian Dusk is in good heart at present and should make a bold bid here, but we will take a chance on the fitness of Gold Card and Be Wise Girl, with latter just getting the nod. James Given's filly improved for her debut run at Warwick to finish a promising third over course and distance. That race was back in October but her shrewd handler will no doubt have her ready to run and she certainly has bags of scope for further improvement. Gold Card contested some decent maidens on the turf last season and if handling this surface today should be in the firing line. Caspian Dusk in undoubtedly the form horse on the all-weather having finished placed here and at Lingfield on his last two outings. They weren't very strong events but neither is this race and Caspian Dusk does have obvious claims, however we expect Be Wise Girl to improve step up on previous efforts and she gets our vote.
