Verdict

A wide open affair gets proceedings underway with many in-form rivals in opposition including Cigarillo, Garden Feature and Your A Gassman and the tentative vote goes to the last named. The selection was a good second behind Juralan last time and that form has since been franked and with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat. Garden Feature won well over course and distance last time when defeating Kindle Ball under similar conditions, and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. However, he will find this much tougher under his penalty so is best watched on this occasion. Cigarillo is another last-time-out-winner worthy of respect and he won well when defeating Cougar. He escapes a penalty for that win and will not be far away. Of the remainder, Cotton Grange was a fair third last time out over a longer trip and hails from a shrewd yard so is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to Your A Gassman.
