In depth

Verdict

In an interesting fillies' affair, we like the look of Sahara Silk, with Generous Gesture among a few who can be given chances. Looking at the field. Queens Square can get back to the level of form that she achieved in maidens last summer, she would have a good chance on her all-weather debut, and Velvet Touch, who has form on the surface, can also have a good case made for her if she is in the best of moods. Turkish Delight and Obe Bold have also shown promise thus far, so watch the betting for clues with regard to their chances in what is an interesting race, although Obe Bold has a little to find with course and distance winner Sahara Silk based on their runs behind Crewes Miss Isle at Wolverhampton on April 24. Sahara Silk possibly holds the key to this race, having been raised just two pounds for that c/d success. Generous Gesture's sole win to date was gained on slow going over today's course and distance, so expect a bold showing from Michael Bell's runner, who is fitted with a first-time visor, while Cheeky Chi, who earned winning brackets when scrambling home at Redcar last time, had certainly shown promise prior to that win and is another that holds a chance. Add into the mix the topweight Marinaite, a course winner over seven but who is possibly better over today's trip, it confirmed that, as we say, what an interesting affair this is. And for the selection, we are going to side with Sahara Silk.
