    Verdict

The pair to focus on here are Doctored and Caspian Dusk, with our vote going to the latter. There appears to be very little to choose between the pair mentioned on the basic ratings form, although Doctored's best form has come on Turf. That win was gained at Folkestone 22 days ago on good to soft, but Doctored's only run so far on today's surface was a well-beaten third of 14. For us, that swings things into the favour of course and distance winner Caspian Dusk. Today's rider Tony Culhane guided the three-year-old to a very easy success on that occasion 30 days ago and a repeat of that level of form will make him hard to beat. Turning to the others. Bretton, who ran some reasonable races in defeat last year, has really lost his way of late, while the other pair have so far displayed only weak form. This brings us back to the main pair, of which we just side with Caspian Dusk.
