In depth

Verdict

BAVARIAN NORDIC sets the standard here, and is selected ahead of Persian Peril and Turban Heights. Chasing a hat-trick of wins, this is his first time on the all-weather. He may try and set a decent pace from the front, with the attitude of 'catch me if you can'. Turban Heights finished well down the field last time out, but still ahead of Can Can Star. That though was at Newbury with some cut in the ground, and this surface may be more to his liking. Persian Peril has to defy top weight, and has never won off his current mark. A couple of decent seconds indicate he's OK on the surface; last time out though he was just headed by a more determined rival. There's a small field, from which we'll pick Bavarian Nordic.
