Verdict

ZENGA makes the most appeal on the evidence available and is a confident selection to get the ball rolling. Real Diamond and Grissom are starting to look exposed but have to be respected in this company. They appeal as the main dangers on this occasion. Grissom handles cut in the ground and is improving with experience. The mount of Franny Norton ran a solid race in a nursery last time out and, as he will find this level a tad easier, the son of Desert Prince should not be underestimated - despite being likely to need a stiffer test of stamina before too long. Real Diamond is a free-running sort but is capable of winning a small prize at some point. She needs to learn how to reserve her energy for a final push, though, and is vulnerable to a more determined type. Which is exactly what he will face in the shape of Zenga, who showed huge improvement from his debut when he finished a close second at Pontefract eight days ago. The Bryan Smart-trained colt showed he is learning his trade very quickly and is a strong fancy to set take the lion┬┐s share of the spoils.
