      Verdict

Mi Odds can defy topweight here, with Trouble Mountain, Digger and Khuzdar seen as the main dangers. Mi Odds is no stranger to success at Southwell, having won here five times in all, although his most recent success came at Wolverhampton off what was his lowest all-weather mark for some time. He then came close to following up here next time under a six-pound penalty, but challenged up the unfavoured inside part of the track and went down by half a length to Amir Zaman. He remains on a good mark and must go close. Trouble Mountain is a classy recruit from turf who, at the age of six, steps on to the fibresand for the first time. Having taken on top handicap company at the likes of York and Doncaster during the year, this opposition will hold no fears for Mick Easterby¿s charge-the big question is, how will he act on the surface. If he does, he will pose a major threat. Digger has been failing to last out two miles, and based on his third to Inglis Drever here in June, is another for the short-list, while Khuzdar has a handy weight and is a possible for the frame. Considering the low prize money on offer, this is not a bad race, and we take the fragile Mi Odds to be coaxed home by Tony Culhane.
