In depth

Verdict

Cousin Guillaume was always in the firing line on his debut at Kelso and though unable to quicken will have come on for the experience and should enjoy the softer conditions. Countersign showed the benefit of his opening run with a better effort at Towcester where he found the 1m6f inadequate. This is more his trip and he looks certain to be in the shake-up. Bellorophon, runner-up on his only point-to-point start, ran so badly when fancied for his bumper debut at Sedgefield that it can't have been his true form. Ifonlywecud has twice run reasonably well here but a chance is taken with TRUCKERS STEEL, who was purchased for £45,000 after a comfortable victory in a point-to-point at Dromahane on very heavy going.
