      Verdict

      None of these inspire much confidence but Andrew Balding's excellent strike rate at the track suggests BERKSHIRE BEAUTY will give a good account. She began the year on a 9lb higher mark and made the frame at Wolverhampton on her recent return from a lay-off. Bunker Hill Lass won off today's mark under today's apprentice at Brighton in October, though will need to improve on her effort here a fortnight ago when only fifth. Fen Lady is preferred to Thello of the less-exposed types but the remainder have all tumbled down the weights without yet showing any improvement.
